Just accept: There is no soapbox
Makes sense to me.
Also I had the paipo out again. Super fun board. At head and half it was a bit more than I could handle., but I am amazed at how light the board feels.

Can you carve a surfboard style turn on the paipo or is it more like riding a skim board?

Somewhere in between, and depends a bit on how much fin you use.
Definitely you can engage the rail into a carve more than a skim, or at least mor ethan I can do on s kim as I find them super slippery, , but can't fully load the paipo up like a surfboard..it is more slippery and requires a bit more finess and light touch on the turns..really fun though!!!

I agree 100% with this. I am interested in trying a bit more fin, but I do not want it to be another surfboard.
I do get some spray off the top, but not like a traditional surfboard
..and I would add it is not any harder to spin this board around than a skim. I am still amazed at how light it feels on my feet.
That said, I've only had a few sessions on it.

I started with small wake fins (1.2 in) and too slippery. then went to honking big and thick ocean rodeo 85mm fins..too stiff and felt draggy/slow
Next set I will try will be around 6 or 7 cm regular shape twin tip fins,, and should be just right ..i hope

I got some (I think) 2in SS fins off ebay. They worked well. I would like to try it with a slightly bigger ones.

Yeah I put the Naish 2.5 inch fins on my Paipo. Took 'em straight off the Arcade (no need for fins on that board). It carves great but you need to be on the back foot. Been working on surface spins lately by keeping pressure on the nose during the spin to lift the fins. Also airs to blind, but those are tres difficile
