Hi Toby,
I was last week in Turkey up North. Water was around 17 oC. I suppose in Gokova now it will be OK with 4/3 or even 3/2 wetsuit depending on the brand. Regarding wind, I can say that if you look at the Meltemi ( N/W in the north part of the Aegean sea, N around Cesme and N/W near Bodrum/Gokova ) and you see a good forecast, you should get good wind in Gokova. If the weather is hot ( last week ~28-30 oC ) and no clouds, you can expect a further thermic - 3-4 knots.
I hope I was helpful,
Anton

Hi Toby,
I live in Turkey, and was there in May before.
Water temperature must be about 20C, and you should be OK with a thin shorty.
Winds are thermal, and it's windy if it's sunny with no clouds.
Check
