Slingshot fuel with a cuben fibre thin Leading Edge?

Postby laz » Mon Jun 17, 2013 8:35 pm

I think this would make the kite so much better. Haha someone should custom fabricate it.

Try a Nemises HP or a Yarga Pro and see the difference a cuben fibre thin leading edge makes. Faster turning, higher jumping, better upwind. Might lose a little stability? But so be it.

It would also need a totally different foil, fly to a different pace in the window and give different slack etc. So fly the best kites if you like them better ;)

so who thinks it was the white "cuben fiber" that made the difference, and how exactly. the "theory" (hype) was that it was stronger, and therefore could handle 10+ psi, and therefore a narrower diameter LE design could be used. is that correct? anyone really think the material made the difference, and that current LE material really can't deal with pressure and design shape like that? is cuben fiber somehow stiffer or something? i remember it, nemes and waroo pros, i dont think it matters.

although i agree it looks sicks and feels good. is it actually heavier or lighter per sqm? stronger, if so in what way? anyone actually know the deal. if it is better i definitely wish i had it too.

I had a quiver of yargas and then yarga pro's. The pro kite was better, stiffer, more responsive, better in high winds and very gusty winds frame was a rock. Was a great jumper. I had 7,9,11 liked the 7 and 9 the best. SHould have never sold them. Now I ride Vegas kinda a similar shape. TIme to go ride the Vegas now while it is still early season in Brasil. :naughty:

I think they should make the entire kite out of Cuben Fiber!
