That bar actually looks like a 3 line bar, so what you're calling the rear lines are actually the flying lines and that line in the middle is attached to the brake lines.

Is this really a bar and lines that North produced at some point (circa 1999?) Or did this guy make this in his basement?
Trim straps on the rear lines? What appears to be a piece of clothes line tied to the bar with a clove hitch???

Just pray that the new guy at your beach doesn't buy it!

just buy this one, easy to modify if needed:

latest model with shipping cost (10€) it is 5€ more expensive than switchkite bar, but i like kiteattitude's QR better.
older bars are more cheaper...

No surprise there, I always looked at them as overpriced gear with subquality materials. The bad part is no rep will chime in on why their gear is priced so high for, but we all have a choice not to support brands who price hike year after year for little to no innovation so I'm glad i wont buy into this!

unless their bar is made from baby panda bear bones it is pure corporate greed.
www.pryde-group.com says:
NeilPryde Ltd. is a privately held company - a partnership between Mr. Neil Pryde and the Shriro Group
and what the Shriro Group (
www.shriro.com) states about its mission?
Our financial goal is to provide best returns to our investments and to maximize the long term shareholder value
so there it is.
probably they lost some sell numbers to a smaller more flexible brands, but
best returns to their investments and
long term shareholder value must be still respectfully provided and maximized.

no offense guys... but:
Here it is 499USD:
http://www.adventurekiteboarding.com/20 ... 014-x1.htm
Here it is 569USD (with the pump and the bag):
http://www.mackiteboarding.com/2014-cab ... ding-kite/
Sub-quality materials? I donnu... I wouldn't say that any of the big brands have really sub-quality materials..
Profit driven? Definitely... did oversee a brand that is in it for altruism?

None taken
got the RRP price direct from a buddy with the dealers list in his hand.
The 1X bar was listed as $600, I think - the XL had 24m lines too. Love to know how they can do it $100 cheaper... selling at minimal retail markup?
