my repairs are not stunts that make a good point about the product.

last repair with at least a total in length 2.4m + leading edge and bladder repair

My goodness, 6-8 repairs per week. Are you riding on gravel? I'm just sayin.

When you open a new tube, just put a fair amount of Vaseline on the thread and repeat that from time to time and it will never get stuck again. I have to do that on my Goop tube to avoid the same problem.

I thought Aquaseal and the KiteFix glue are all the same type of product, just different consistency for different applications.

You mean this stuff, right?

As far as I can tell, it's the same as this stuff, called 'Goop'.

I found actually GluFix to be closer to the consistency of their 'Shoe Goo' product though. They have a whole range of adhesives which are all the same thing but with different consistencies marketed towards specific applications.

I'd get in touch with them to sample a range, and to confirm I'm not talking out of my ass; then buy the one you like best in bulk.

Of course, I'd expect the KiteFix guys to tell you that it's *not* the same; but they sure as hell look the same to me.

I have some Gluefix, Aquaseal, Goop Marine and many others that I use for various jobs. Theses three are all very similar but not exactly identical. For example, the Gluefix take 30min to be dry while it takes many hours for the Goop to dry. The Goop is more flexible. The Aquaseal is about half way between the Gluefix and the Goop. The Goop is even offered in various grade (household, marine, plumbing, etc) and each one is slightly different. For example the Marine grade is better in term of UV resistance so for anything that is exposed to the sun I use the Marine grade. Some are more flexible, etc.. So similar but not exactly the same.

I use goop as a bumper along my mako...its rather hard and rubbery. I also use it for my surfboard nose as a bumper. In my experience, its not good on something that flexes.

Aquaseal is great for neoprene, harness stitching and booties.

To me kitefix is the best at flexing, it also appears to be less viscous that all the others and flexes with the canopy and doesnt peel up as fast.

Excellent tip on the caps btw :P

Whatever glue you put on your kite will scrap it or cost twice as much to repair professionally after your trip. Keep the goop for your shoes ;-)
