Book-marked for sure, hope their servers can take the load from all the kiters who will find this usable.
Me being skeptical, took a snapshot (8:20 am, 12/18/2013):

It shows an off-shore flow in the mid-eastern states (Atlantic coast, USA). So, to confirm it is real data go see the true wind-gauge actuals on a maps like these (windonthewater.com). The actuals are in line with what the wind map shows, meaning it is real data, or at least as close as something like this can be.

You can change from kmh to kn, different altitudes, different projections all in the lower left corner.
