thats true.... tons of great deals on used gear. And two kites can do the job about 80% of the time. And wind is free.
Its just us dumb ass old guys who have to have 4 new kites and three boards.

I must be extra dumb with 6 boards and 7 kites. (Had 10) hahaha. Buying is half the fun of kiting.
I'd say 1 kite and board could do ya for 80% of the time here 11 knots to 24 (Ozone Egde 17). Used boards often go for $100 here, kite depends, $500. I sell mine cheap. I use my Ozone edge 17 and 11 m and covers everything up to 30 knots. Flysurfer 12m Speed, 11 knots to almost 30 knots. 140cm Nobile T5 board. I weigh in at 97kgs.
Gear includes;
Newind split board 140
Nobile Split board 137
Nobile 2HD 132
Nobile T5 140
New Subwoofer 5'8"
Slingshot Kneesmacker

10m Switchblade
14m Switchblade
18m Vortex (Never used) Selling
17m Edge
11m Edge
12m FLysurfer Speed 3
19 Peter lynn Charger

Sold 3 Epic kites and 2 2012 Switchblades.

Agree Kiting is not expensive. Snowboarding, mountain bike, BMX, even Skateboarding are similar or more. The younger people are probably too busy playing video games or virtual kiting. ;)

well being considered a "young" kiter, at 20 years. have been doing it for 3 years and have to say it is nice to have the old guys around to sell you last years model pretty cheap, so they can buy the next generation which is usually the same thing anyways. so keep up the good work guys, because without you, us college kids would not have gotten into it :thumb:

Average would be mid-late 40's... we've got a couple of outliers at 19 and 65, with the bulk of riders in the 30-50 bracket.

28-35 is probably the avg age of all the kiters but a 16-27 year old kiter puts in about three times more kiting hours. No family and no demanding work to worry about for these youngsters

If you're 16 to 27 and have no demanding work, whether it be work or school , I sure hope they have a trust fund. Those are the years you should be building your future.

Very Tanned. All we see is white teeth smiling at us when we kite by them.
