not sure about who did the ticks first but we kind of own them now. and as for landboaring being dangerous, well, its like anything, you push it as hard as you want (without the risk of being eaten by sharks or drowning!!!)

Well, owing them I wouldn't say.
The most tricks are still landed on water and some you will never land on land.
Let's say, it is a good copy ;-)

Armed full contact combat using lances would be the way to go for spectators.

As for hairstyle, i didnt mind the KOTA in high winds - entertaining and risky for sure but some of that airstyle vid is like a scene from a Sacha Baron Cohen movie.

Would be a difficult choice between watching triple one foots in 18 knots and the popular urban sport of kite racing, the excitement could get too much to handle.

I liked Christophe Tacks downloop slim today.. very cool.

Considering the crowd freaking out at Nitro Circus last week everytime it was getting potentially deadly, I'm sure these sort of tournament would make a successful comeback! :D

Starsky wrote:Not sure jens has any agenda other than to set the record straight. AIRSTYLE is absolutely the solitary mission of the owner of this forum. To claim that there was a world championship as proof of credibility and popularity is rediculous. The "world championship" in question was a one off test event with no prior qualifying criteria what so ever. To simply brand an exibition as a world championship doesn't make it one. If you doubt this is the case just ask the guy who won the "title" how little credibility he gives it. Didn't he compete in a rubber mask? If it had truly been such a spectator hit why did the organization who hosted it never hold another Airstyle comp ever again?

Slope style comp is the future. Well, that and waves and racing. Just because freestyle is a bore doesn't default the freestyle skiing of kiteboarding to legitimacy!

To further set the record straight. Old school was Toby's first term of choice, but no one back in the day did anything like what Toby does. They weren't on big kites or do any of his 666 tricks that are no more distinguishable from each other than one handle pass from the next. So if we're talking agendas, why is it that while talking out of one side of his mouth saying he promotes all disciplines of the sport why does he single out wake style for pot shots every chance he gets? Trust me, as many wave and freestyle guys laugh at Airstyle as wake guys. Toby, have you ever considered that the reason you only hear such overwhelmingly positive feedback is because those that aren't fans couldn't be bothered to run up to you on the beach and tell you so? The sport has been around for well over a decade now and without the persistent efforts on your part there would be no such thing as Airstyle. That's not the case for every other discipline in the sport. My only agenda here is keeping it real... And for the record, I don't hate what you do, it's impressive in its own way, it just nauseates me how you promote it. I don't see it as a worthy form of competition and am certainly not alone. If enough people out there wanted it, it would happen, but that hasn't been the case. I'm pretty sure this is the only forum on the internet with Airstyle as a category, I'm also pretty sure Toby has posted in every single one of its threads.

Well why the f*** are you on a forum called airstyle? Bunch of know it all Guys that's all I'm seeing.

Setting the record straight hey, I bet your shit doesn't smell either. Setting the record straight in your own head mate that's for sure.

Reading through some back issues Ozzy?

I pick the topics off the main page..... I think thats what its for.... to spread topics to a wider audience.

Funny enough i read your comments whilst stinking up the bathroom this fine morning. Did you have anything to add, or are you just trolling?

Trolling? Calling the kettle black it seems. For someone who is obviously not a fan, why are you even on this forum...spreading to a wider audience..within an airstyle forum?

Look I have appreciated your rants on the main forum, don't get me wrong...

But you are on a specialised forum for crew to share their ideas about this particular form of the sport and indeed the possibility of competing within this field...

This is not the place for one of your opinionated rants mate.

What I find nauseating is the consistent promotion of PKRA wakestyle comps that only 5 percent of the market participate in themselves.

If you don't like Toby's promotion then get the f*** of this forum, simple.

Or create your own, with all the work involved.

Dude, you quote a post on page 2 of a 6 page thread that I wrote more than six month ago...... just saying, ,, looks a bit like trolling.

Its a topic, a kiteboarding topic on a kiteboarding forum. Comes up on the front page of the forum just like all the rest. Don't like my posts, don't read em. Have a problem with something specific I said, bring it up and your welcome to your opinion. The first paragraph in that post is pretty much fact. The third is mostly opinion and your welcome not to share in it. but....

Yeh I agree with one thing you said.

A little too cranky. Might need a new tampon maybe. :)

All good.

I don't understand the motivation of people posting in a specialized forum when they don't like it.

Tells me, something is wrong with them.

Just stay out if this Starsky if it is not your thing.
This is for Airstyle lovers, not haters.

Good advice: stay out of this and leave the Airstylers alone, you won't change our minds with whatever comment you post. And you will make less friends.
