      very nice. Once again this is the reason why I want people to demo the kites because I know the end results.
Is this the same beginner kiter that came out of the water to tell me that he had no power on his 12 meter from another kite company and tried the SURF 12, and could not believe the power and the turning speed of the kite!!!!
If that's him I think he is selling his other kite in order to buy a SURF 12. Make sure he tries also the SURF 8.

Just got out of the water few hours ago. The weather was very stormy, rainy and windy (South winds 18 to 33 mph). I was on the SURF 8 over powered and Marc Rowley my UK dealer from BLAST KITEBOARDING was on the SURF 5.
Once again he was so impressed with the performance of the SURF kite.
He could not believe I was able to hold the SURF 8 in these crazy conditions. Yes it was hard but was able to kill the kite every time I was on the wave.

P.S. Video of the SURF coming soon.

I normally ride another kite brand, but have now bought an 8 m. Epic surf kite. I have been a surfer all my life, so the only reason I started kiting is to get towed into a wave and surf it. I am not the best kiter but am an advanced surfer, so forgive me if all of my kite terms are not the best.
I am just giving my opinion on the kite based on my experience. I watched Dimitri in the ocean testing this kite repeatedly, he would crash it (on purpose) and make it go under repeated waves and then it would shoot right back up in the air when he was ready. He did this on many different occasions. I was pretty amazed that the kite would survive and even more amazed that it would relaunch after that many waves. That sparked my interest in the kite.
On a different day I was doing a down winder with some friends and Dimitri was going also. He offered to let me use a 9. m. Renegade, I tried it and it responded really well, I was used to it in about 5 min., I didn't think I would like it because I was so used to my kites, but I really liked it.
I decided to go ahead and get a Surf Kite, I figured if I liked the Renegade I'm going to really like the Surf since it is made for surfing.
I went ahead and bought one, this turned out to be a really good decision, this kite is stable, turns fast and waits for me to ride the wave. No back stall at all. This is my opinion, if your considering a wave kite, you should try one.
(Also, just wanted to point out, I did not know Dimitri before this, had just seen him in the water and have no connection with any kite company)

I've got a Surf 12 kite on the way to demo against my 4G Renegade 11M.
Should be very interesting.
Will report after test.
Stoked!

Well, I got to try the 12 m Epic Surf Kite today. Conditions were light 11-15 straight onshore maybe an occasional higher gust. Waves were chest high and high tide as well plenty of shore break, I'm 185 lbs. I think the kite performed wonderfully despite the conditions. Its very stable and responsive, turns like a much smaller kite. I usually don't like flying my larger kite but that was before trying the Surf 12. I know I want one. My 8m Surf will usually be the go to kite where I live but, for the very light days I will be excited about using the 12. Hope this helps someone's decision making process if you are in the market. I would recommend to anyone to try this kite. I think after you try it you will be hooked.
