Hey airsurfer, I wonder with your experience on the S3 12 m dlx kites you could help me with a problem? I've got that kite and it's great, or was great, but now I'm having some problems with front stall in gusty winds. It can be ok in reasonably steady winds, but sometimes in a gust, the front of the kite tips over and it falls to the water. Sometimes, I can correct by aggressively pulling on the steering line on the opposite side, but I wonder if there is some tuning I could do to make it right. Mixer was at zero, but then I adjusted C towards the bar by about 2.5 cm. That was gave me severe backstall and loss of power. I have reduced the center line length to try to correct for that, but haven't test flown it yet. Any thoughts on other things I could try? It's really a great kite.

"S3 12 LTD when powered up in plus 20 knots is an insane jumping machine the height and power is comparable to a 7M C kite"
This is why I'm so curious the S3 12 was a great foil. I would love for someone to get their hands on a 12m Chrono that has had a S3 12 and take it for a test ride.

Ozone Edge 9m -13 (selling)
C4 7m -12 (might sell)
Thinking of a Chrono 12m and Catalyst 8m combo.

does the 12m Chrono having better low end, upwind and boosting,
than 12m Speed3 DLX for a light person like me
the low end of my chrono 18 is better than the s3 21. me heavy and on twintip. the faster the board, the more will the chrono gain.
the chrono 12 will for sure have a better low end than the s3 12 dlx also for you as a light kiter. it will have noticable less grunt (static pull) which is good for light kiters. in light winds you will need to move the kite faster to get going. once you have just a little board speed the kite will perform.

I see on the wind chart around 12 kn but it is probably much better than that especially with a mutant
DrLW
forget about wind charts on kite manufacturers websites.

i agree! that is the reason i had the s3 12 dlx for such a long time. it is a great kite! the high end is scaringly great and jumps are awesome when fully powered.
the kites with more ar and thinner profile will deliver those jumps in much less wind.
