TitanBond for two layers board

Hi guys,

I would like to minimise using epoxy, and move to something more health friendly.

Would using Titanbond PU glue be a problem considering the sheer force, flexible bamboo properties and Paulownia wood?
Both epoxy sealed way before. This means wood will be dry but PU works with a moisture in the wood (I understand the best is to lightly wet out the wood with water before).

Also, using a vacuum for rocker and concave, would that be a problem for PU glue?

I've not used that product before but I know Gorrilla Glue http://gorillaglue.com.au/ is a structural adhesive and may be worth a trial run

I use PU glue all the time.. I use excel PU glue .. great price and shipping doesn't kill me... I press it under vacuum. Or press in our snow board press to make cores.
Go for it... skim it out mist it with water and vacuum it down...

Hi,

I don't know the specific PU adhesive you are refering to. But PU adhesives can reach almost the same level of strenght as most common epoxies. But PU is not more health friendly than epoxy. Epoxy is a problem when it comes to skin contact. PU can be critical both regarding inhalation and skin contact. (but it is not a problem working with either of them, just use the right protection and common sence)

I use this for snowboard cores and the rare wood core kiteboard. Really good stuff to work with and it seems fully water proof.

Stan I also use titebond on my wooden Surf board and SUPs great stuff water proof .. But don't try to vacuum it down, will not cure and stay wet for days in a bag ( don't ask me how I know LOL)

LOL. When I bag a skin on a foam I use epoxy to be sure. Doing vert lam cores the titebond is user friendly and proven good. Whenever you try something new it's a crap shoot.

DU if you are using PU there is no worries with the vacuum.. pull it as much as you can.. I put a light skim coat on the one piece and then mist water with a water bottle on the other half and press as much as I can pull
