Good points plummet, completely agree the number doesn't mean much when comparing different models.
OTOH laying one kite on top of each other doesn't mean very much either, cause projected area is different than total area and grunt is highly dependant on the canopy's profile along the chord / luff curve.

how much low end are you looking for in a "8m", on a standard twin tip ?
and how much low end is that standard for medium aspect kites in this sizes..

All good. Going to leave this thread to trend in it's correct direction. Only want to add that I was saying "hater" more in the way it's more commonly used on the internet these days of haters gonna hate or, "I'm cool if you disagree" kind of way.

Carry on! (And let me know if we can get you on a smaller Razor one day! lol)

True. But when comparing apples with apples. Ie low aspect bridled sle with low aspect bridled sle. The projected area, aspect ratio are very similar. So it gives you a rough idea.

So if all other aspects are equal... or very similar project area, aspect ration..... Then one kite that has a lot more grunt than another is simply bigger....

If I was to compare my chrono to my reo it would be completely pointless.

Naish Ride 8m is another good option.

What he said, give the 2015 ENVY a try, it's great.

The new 8m Ocean Rodeo razor version 5 is fantastic, I have it and love it.

I like Catalysts and Razors (tho haven't tried the latest Razor to be fair) but the gruntiest 8m kite I've flown is the North Rebel. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but for hooked in low end grunt it pulls like nothing else I've flown.

I have a switch nitro 2 8m and that kite gets me going in about 15 mph. I weigh about 200lbs. Nice thing about that kite is that it turns slow for an 8m so you can get comfortable on it quick. I have a 10m nitro 4 now and it also has good low end but not the same raw power that the nitro 2 had.

We have a huge discount on the 8m 2014 Blade triggers right now. If you use the discount code "extra10" they work out at approx $475. They have a great wind range and get excellent reviews.
