Recommended foil kite for hydrofoiling

Postby Gobigorfoil » Fri Jun 24, 2016 9:06 am

Hey,

Hydrofoiling now, I'm looking into buying a 12m foil kite for light days.
This will be my first foil kite - which kites are recommended for low end & easy to fly?

Thanks

I use the Flysurfer Speed 4 kites. 8 m, 10 m (Lotus) and 12 m (Lotus). They work very well for me. Usually, if I can get the 12 to stay in the air, I can ride upwind and with decent power on the hydrofoil.

The race kites are probably too difficult for a first foil kite. But I haven't tried them yet. If I lived along a nice beach with stable wind, I'd probably try the race kites.

Sufficient float in the lowest windrange, stability, and power are quite difficult to implement in a single kite.

As a kitefoil noob I have HF'd a few times with the new FS Speed5 12m.
I liked that kite.
But around 5/6knots things become difficult, as it is not the lightest 12m out there.

Have a look in the Pansh A15 and Concept'air new Pulsion kite topics here.

Especially the last one is interesting!
