Deep KF box sizes

I think I'm gonna use KF box for the sup mast

If your using a KF box, I would recommend using 2 screws (or more) to pull the mast (strut) in. I was surprised how quickly I wore a single screw mast (Ketos) so it started to rock back and forward. Had to repot the mast head..now fine again. Probably my fault for not getting it meticulously clean on every assembly but that can be a bit difficult on a windy beach.

Deep boxes are not really essential.

The original windsurfing Tuttle fin box was modified and deepened to become the "deep Tuttle" when windusrdfers started using very long fins and applied enormous sideways pressure on them. Kiteboard hydrofoiling is different and the pressure on the box is mostly straight down the mast.

Both the regular Tuttle box and the KF box are not deep and are widely used with hydrofoil kiteboards without problem. Around here there are plenty of regular Tuttle mounted hydrofoils (like my own Taaroa Joy) and we have no issues.

Be reminded that your mast is perhaps 15mm thick and so you don't really need a box that is 77mm high to take the same sideways force. (This may be oversimplifying but hopefully you get the idea.)

Also note that the mast/fuselage connection on many hydrofoils is very minimal and yet it takes much of the same sideways force.

Still NOONE who can tell us the height of the deep KFBox F-One uses ?

Amazed, on a world wide forum and not one single answer about the height

KFBox is 120 x 25 mm and 6 degree conical on both sides, no matter what height.

Std KFBox is just about 40 mm high, but what is the deep box ???

But it is 140 long so not compatible and you can not use a std KFBox in the deep one ???

Well it fits in but does not touch the front and back wall screws as at same position though

The hole spacing is the same, so, If I read what Renaud posted correctly, the regular KF is basically the same as the top half or so of the DeepKF? That would be the only way to do it that made sense. That way you could stick a regular KF post in a deep box, it would just sink into the board a little deeper, or you could stick a DeepKF post in a regular box and just have it hang out a bit.

Is that correct?

No! The front and back walls of any box are most important. They keep your mast from pivoting fore and aft. Any box system must have front and back support.
