2015 Bandit Bladder

Postby alpha84 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 11:51 am

Hi guys,

I was riding today on my 9m bandit in about 28-30 mph wind when the bladder suddenly deflated and the kite fell. After a fun swim in I discovered a rupture in the badder at the end of the wing. Is this hole to close to the seam to patch? Any idea what would cause this to happen? A little disappointed I need to possibly replace the badder after maybe 40 sessions.

Almost the same thing happened to me with my 12m Bandit V. Heard a loud pop while I was pumping it on the beach. The cause? I believe the bladder was not properly installed. No need to replace the bladder, it's easy to fix, in a few ways. The way I did it: Squirt some aquasure/stormsure/ bison vinyl (any glue that's know to bond bladder material) from the tear , and smear it in the bladder forming a strip parallel to the seam, covering the torn area. Place some wax paper and weight over it, and it will be ready to ride the next day.

I had same thing on a strut of a 2015 14m. I believe the end of the bladder wasn't rolled and tucked properly the dakron thingy that hold bladder in at the end.

Should be easy to patch.
