I ride a Pivot 14 regularly. It is a good kite. Quick, stable and has lots of power. It jumps well and lets you down easy. The 2017 is better than the 2016 in my opinion. I think the Quad-tex helps the kite maintain it's shape when really loaded up and there is almost no "flutter" or "flapping" in this kite. I like it a lot. Short of flying the Ozone Zephyr for light winds(my absolute favorite light wind kite), the Pivot 14 is my kite choice when it is not light enough for the Zephyr.

+1 for the 15m Contra, best size in the range IMHO.

I posted this on a similar thread a while back:

Good to hear the 13m Contra has been improved (for 2017) as my 2016 sucked!
I had/have 13/15/17m Contras
17m was park and ride, no complaints, good kite.
15m - I still have as this is my preferred kite in the range, great all round.

The 13m sucked big time. I have not struggled to go upwind for about 10+ yrs but his kite wasn't having it!
It didn't feel good or responsive, just lifeless. I persevered, changed bar/lines etc. and others tried it too, not good.
So if you do go for a 13m Contra, go for a 2017 as recommended, it sounds as though it has been sorted.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

What windrange can you use the 14m for? What do you weight and what kind of board?

Peek at the Ocean Rodeo Flite 14.5 and try it if you can. May suit your needs.

Does anyone know how much the Naish Pivot 14m weighs (with bridles of course)? Am looking at getting one sight unseen but am concerned that with the "heavy duty" fabric used it might be heavier than I expect.

Hello,
Can you please tell me how well the combination of Cabrinha Bars are on the Pivots? I have heard you have to use pigtails and stuff.
Also, I am thinking of the Cabrinha Fireball instead of the chickenloop bar. Do you know if that too should work the same on the Naish Pivot kites?

Thanks.

But it makes sense anyway, although i use a Cabrinha bar already for the pivots as well.

No problem - and no extra pigtails needed. I'm not super familiar with the 2017 Naish line, so you may be able to swap the loops/knots on front and back lines - however, the Cab bar is sweet, I use it for all my kites. Easy to swap the front and rear control line pigtails.

You can use the cabrinha bar with the Pivot. You have to switch the knot/loop connections however in some way. You can use conversion pigtails, like i did, or switch the Cabrinhabar control line pigtails, like previous poster KiteDR says. The latter will only be practically if you don't want to use the same bar for a Cabrinha kite as well because then you would have to switch them before each session and you don't want to go there because you have to be sure that your lines will be all equally tuned after you change anything (check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUFX3A6mR1U). As you can see in the video you use the Cabrinha control line pigtails for adjusting your line length as well.

If you use the bar only with the Pivots then the latter method is the preferred way I would think because the pigtails (at least the ones I had) can be a bit hard awkard to untight after use. Not a big problem but annoying sometimes for me.

As far as the fireball is concerned, I never used one but I would say it will work allright since the fireball doesn't change anything in your lines setup.

Why is it you want to use the Cabrinha bar instead of a nasih bar?
