Hey everybody,
I'm taking a week off from work and want to go on a short trip within Europe. Looking for flatwater and guaranteed wind. How is cape drepano in Greece around this time of year? How do you get there? Fly to Athens and then drive? What about water temperature? I'm guessing 4/3 shortleg should be fine.
Thanks,
Frank

Hello rank82,
Cape Drepano is one of the best spots for kitesurfing in mainland Greece. The spot is mostly spacious from Monday to Friday, but during the weekends it can get overcrowded. There are no accommodations close to the spot, so you will need to rent a car. You can get a bus to get to Patras ( city where Drepano is located ) from the main Athens airport, it takes about 3hours.
Another good option that is not very well known is that there are a few kite spots in Athens and are only an hour away from the city. You can also find cheap accommodation in the city. We organize daily kite trips to spots like Oropos, Loutsa and sometimes like this coming Saturday to Nafpaktos ( one of the safest spots in Greece) and Drepano.
Hope you have a nice time during your stay in Greece.

Hello guys,
I have been to Athens a lot of times due to work and I am in the city now. You can give a call to Fani and she will organize everything for you. Those guys know where the wind is every day.
I have been with them to ,
Oropos – it has a steady thermal wind between 12 -20 knots with some flat area
Loutsa – gusty but windy all day wind between 16 to 30knots with some flat area in between the 2 small islands and in front
Nafpaktos – the best of all, steady wind at 20knots, large flat area but very shallow waters
Drepano – I passed once going towards Nafpaktos it seemed nice but was full of kiters and windsurfers
