Yes unless you are a racer on a budget that has to stay on the cutting edge to be competitive, it's good to see regular updates. While they aren't great compared with newer models, my r1v1 kites cost me a fraction of new and have taken a plenty of my abuse tacking and gybing. As long as the longevity doesn't continue to be cut with lighter and lighter materials, there should be good deals that filter down the latest tech. I'm going to be looking for some Sonic 2 now that the new model is out from Flysurfer.

I wouldn't say that the secondary market is artificially high unless Ozone, Flysurfer, and F-One are buying up used race kites to burn and keep them off the market. The price is high to begin with (but people will pay it) and the market isn't that big. Its smart that they build them to order but there's quite a few people on the payroll to sell a niche low volume product so I guess that's what's driving up the price.

I've heard that with one the F-One designers leaving with Nocher to form Enata (with essentially what was the Diablo 3), F-One is already working on the "Diablo 4," skipping the 3 and trying for even more performance. Or, maybe it's all hype

I hate that I bought kites that were basically out of date due to affordability but love where development is going. Its the finer details that you think about then see the companies are on the same wave length.
How far can it all go? No idea myself but i am liking how fast its all moving.

I remember seeing a video on YouTube with Rob Whittall from Ozone talking about the Kite race scene and that having a dedicated race kite was not viable at that point in time. (Words to that effect)
How things have changed.

the V3 has been removed from the Ozone site....all the links gone. Word is that they will not produce it. Anyone know why?

Basically through testing it was discovered that the V2 was not slower than the V3 and still winning races against the new kites. The V3 has a bunch of new tech, which makes it a better kite, but by the time the kite would have been delivered (3 months time for some), other brands might have developed something better. So might as well stay with a winning kite like the V2 and use that tech to make something much faster and see what the others come up with first.
