guys,

to replace the enduro 10m (having the same enjoyable wind range) should i go for an edge 9m or 10m?

i was planning more to go for a 9m but i would like to double check.

If you're replacing your 9, then go for a 9 or 8. The Edge is more powerful size for size than other respective kites. I liken my 10m to a 12m but with a lot more range.

Got the V8-17m and the V8-11 which I have replace for the V9 11m + 15m. High-end 15 meter is very high and gives then high jumps. But you can make almost then the same jumps with the V9-11m. Low-end V9-15m is a bit disappointed.
The bags don't have a pocket for your bar. :-?
Hey how much more low end do you think the 15m has vs an 11m? I have an 11m right now i use in 18+ as im foiling in anything less than that, but i am wondering if an 11m will be enough for my wife in 12 knots or should i get her a 13 or 15 for low end?

Hi, Get the 11m not the 13 or 15. The lift:drag ratio is better the smaller you go. I know "Oldpeople" will disagree.
My wife on her old 11 Edge on a 128cm board could have a good session in 14 knots, and on my 140cm a good one in 12 knots.
Now I have been married to her for 32 years, and I don't know what she weighs, its one of life's great mysteries, but its more than 130#.

All you V9 testers and riders, PLEASE try the shortest setting on the steering lines. Most kites trim right when they do NOT backstall at full power full bar kite overhead.
Speaking from personal experience, I like mine to back stall, not badly, but just start moving back at full-full. They fly very well, and will not give you problems at this setting. The looser setting makes me feel somewhat detached from the kite. Once you are moving, and they are fast, the apparent wind moves forward and the extra angle of attack of the tightest/shortest setting is an advantage. They are super responsive, and a bar-out has more than enough depower for any move. In 15+ knots at full out trim, I like to be able to kite with the bar all the way out and hands off, like behind my head. The Edge is unlike anything else you have ridden, and benefits from a different technique. I am comparing to various kites, Advance, North Rebel,Vegas, Cabrinha SB, Naish Park and Pivot, Best, Core XR3/4, RRD, Ocean Rodeo, and a few more that I cant remember. The V9 has higher bar pressure than V8 and earlier.

Friends who have the v9 are loving theirs including looping ability.

One friend reported:
"Back to back tested the v8&9 today the v8 is faster and jumps higher... but there's bugger all in it and the v9 feels gutless but is easier to fly."

On Saturday a friend was out on his 13m v9 whilst I was on my 17 v7 (love that kite). I personally found that my 13m v8 has a lot of crossover with my 17 v7, but felt the new 13 felt gutless in comparison set on middle setting and middle knot on the new bar. Having to ride it fully sheeted in (maybe a freestyle thing). As the session progressed he changed to shortest backbone setting, with a reported much better overall feel.
I felt the same thing today. What pigtail did you connect to to fix the issue?

I just was out on the 11m edge V9. It was 14-17 knots and the kite felt very vague. Probably because i was super under powered. Nevertheless. Tomorrows forecast is 32-42. Goody! Question, i was watching Gunnar set up his V9 and noticed that he connected to the last pigtail (See photo). What is the benefit to that. Is that the lightwind pigtail? I was riding on medium pigtail like i have my Enduros. Tone, Fat Blokes Can Fly, The Russia, Gunnar....any feedback?

Thanks!

That's how Gunnar liked to ride his v8s too.
The kite should be fine on the middle knot. It's a personal preference thing.

The backline setting should be on standard when the kite (and lines) are new. The other settings are for trimming for line stretch, according to the information on page 13 of the manual.

Recently I noticed on my 10 m V9 Edge that on both sides of the kite the outermost bridle segment remains quite slack with the kite fully pumped, whilst pulling on the attachment knots of the bridles. After this I did a quick bridle check in accordance with the bridle check sheet which you can find on the Ozone website. I do still have to perform an accurate check, but I got the distinct impression that my 10 m Edge is fitted with a bridle for a 9 m Edge. This might be something worth checking.
