Epic have implicitly acknowledged the INFERIORITY their 17m kite - the" Infinity" for light winds:

The conditions were very light and EPIC doesn't have a 19m kite for racing
The entire design philosophy of the 17 m Infinity is problematic.

The Infinity shouldn't even be called a "light wind kite;" rather it IS a light-medium wind kite that will get going in 10-11 knots + vs. 7-8 knots + for proper light wind kites.

So, to sum it up, Epic Infinity is a disguished foil kite

Ummm - not exactly sure what you're trying to say here. But if you're trying to say the "Epic Infinity is like a DISGUSTING foil kite," you'd be pretty close to the mark.

The difference between riding in 10 to 11 knots versus 7 to 8 knots really comes down to the rider's weight, skill level, and the board they're using. Sure , the kite does have an impact but is only part of the equation. I rode Infinity a few years back and it couldn't have been over 10 knots and I was cruising and having a blast. At first I went out on a smaller board but couldn't get upwind hopped on a spleen and had fun. Sure there are probably better ultralight when kites out there but I think the advantage of the Infiniti is that it's a fun kite that most can use in lighter conditions.
