North Zippers

A straight up grind here. North, amazing gear for a premium price with the worst bags on the market. Two of my 2016 dice bags have blown zippers and now my used 4 times Neo bag zipper ripped right off. Seriously, what a burn.

I have a 2015 Dice which is still in perfect condition.
The bag however... There is not a single zip that still works. They have actually all broken off.

If the straps had been sensibly placed I would have still been able to close the bag easily, but they aren't. I need to go all the way around, it really looks like a mess.

Every year the bags are lighter but who cares ? Make them stong again

My 2010 Vegas bag is still working, so solid, i use it to travel.

However :

2015 Dice : Broke 1 zipper
2016 Dice : Broke 1 zipper
2017 Dice : Not Broken yet but i bought it a month ago...


So please North, give us stronger zippers

Agree, the older bags are still holding up, but new zippers are shit. I have a bag from a Rebel 2007 that's still perfectly fine.

All zippers on my 2 2015 Neo bags have broken. I have stopped leaving my kite bags out in the sun when I'm on the water, hoping that helps existing zippers hold up longer in the future.

I have had no problems with their zippers. Of course I take care and fold my kites down very neatly before putting them in the bag. There is no strain on the zippers when your kites are folded properly for storage/travel.

Seems like some years are worse than other.
What year are the bags (not the kites )?


I broke one zipper on my 2015 bag when my bag touched the lip of the car boot. It snapped in half on the spot. And that was the extension pouch zipper, zero pressure on there.
The other two zippers just stopped zipping properly, and eventually let go of the zip. I will admit there was sometimes a bit of pressure on the zipper, but nothing it should not be able to handle.


I know my warranty + extended warranty period has expired, but if anyone at North is reading this, please consider sending me a replacement.
My kite with the broken bag is a 12m North Dice. I would understand if you sent me a 2017 or 2018 as a replacement. Also, the bag for my 9m is showing signs of fatigue, and you could save on shipment if you sent me both together.

3 Neos , 2015 , 2016 - great kites. All zippers stuffed within months.
