Any info on how the Turks and Caicos fared? I saw this last night. You can see Long Bay right in the eye....

Hoping everyone is ok.

Heart goes out to everyone devastated in the Virgin Islands. Looks like Anegada will survive. Massive destruction on Tortola, Gorda, Bitter End, Necker,JVD. Wonder if Sandy Spit is gone. These are some of the most beautiful locations I've ever had the chance to water kite. The locals have a long road ahead of them to put it back together.

Terrible. We were in the middle of booking BVI for sailing/kiting OCT/NOV. Always was aware of the hurricane risk, but never realised that it could be this bad. :-(

I spoke to someone who lives in Long Bay and his house has very little damage.

My house in long bay is also mostly ok https://m.facebook.com/hakunamatatavilla/. From what I heard Long Bay area and the leeward side of Provo were spared compared to the rest of the island. There is more damage on the west side of Provo.

Friend of mine left Miami Beach 3 days ago driving north...now in Alabama, and happy to have found a hotel room.

I saw an indirect message from Chris Moore at Kiteprovo:

Jeff Sherwood
September 9 at 5:06pm · Taos Ski Valley, NM ·
Just spoke to my good friend Chris Moore. He is alive and unharmed. He asked me to make this post as he is without power and needs to conserve what he has. His home and resort are standing, but his neighbors as well as countless others are not so fortunate. Chris said " its like a war zone". He told me it was the storm of a lifetime.

I'm so glad you are safe my friend. Can't wait til we have a drink again and I can hear about the one night stand you had with Irma.

One of my favorite Keys campgrounds was Sunshine Key RV campground tucked in between Bia Honda and 7 Mile Bridge. Been kiting/boating there over the winter holidays since 2003. I fear the place has been pretty much flattened and will take some time to get back online. Considered buying a bail-out-from-the-rat-place-place on Big Pine Key but opted for the Outer Banks instead. Been through ~5 hurricanes since, but none come remotely close to what Irma just did to the Keys. Mother Nature works in strange ways

Good luck to everyone. Wish I could do something to donate, here in Louisiana we were extremely lucky. My parents live in texas and places were flooded that we have never seen water before. Need to find somewhere shipping stuff that away. I'm sure people will need everything. I just hope they had the sense to leave.
