Plain crazy...luckily not another Kevin (who crashed into a building kiting a hurricane)

I'm all for security but to be honest this is all media BS.

The guy has not kited "in an hurricane", this is just what he will forever be telling on Facebook and pubs...you can clearly see that the wind at that moment was more than manageable, the hurricane was set to arrive 24 hours later min.
I mean, he is kiting on a beach where the news girl is staying wearing a small jacket and having no problems talking at the mic. That's probably 30kn winds, obviously not a smart idea to be there, he should have evacuated, but he's not even remotely "riding an hurricane" and those are not extreme conditions. The extreme conditions where scheduled to arrive many hours later.

But he will get loads and loads of girls for the stunt, and i guess that's just why he did it.

i don't think he is crazy, good for him enjoying himself in the land of the fr33 (lol!)

but.. a country that sentences 14 year old black kids to 120 years prison (when they reached 16) for being involved in an armed robbery where no one got physically hurt... you probably don't want to name the kiter..

The ocean looks rough.

Looks to me that he is using a 12m kite and seems a little underpowered. So my guess is about a 14 knot wind, the news reporter's hair is hardly even blowing.

Two problems with this picture:

The wind could double or triple in strength in a hurry and you know it.
The first responders have other things to do than rescuing an obvious idiot.

I would not hang around to see if you make it or not, just that you know. In this situation I don't give a shit.

The hurricane winds are pretty steady. If it's blowing 35 it won't triple.
Also, first responders will [EDIT] not risk their lives to save him. And he won't be the first not being risked for.

Race has nothing to do with kiting nor robberies. You can die kiting a hurricane, you can get shot dead in self defense or by cops in a robbery. Pointing a gun at people gets you killed easily. Kid got his life for free, will live long life, and not going to hurt anyone including himself.
