The wind could double or triple in strength in a hurry and you know it.
The first responders have other things to do than rescuing an obvious idiot.
The hurricane winds are pretty steady. If it's blowing 35 it won't triple.
Also, first responders will risk their lives to save him. And he won't be the first not being risked for.
I respectfully disagree. Hurricane winds are not predictable and steady. The wind is generally crap. Specifically in a case where one chooses to ride in a very large diameter and powerful storm, a feederband could easily have triple the wind in a lead-in gust and would creep up without warning in full cloud cover like I see in the video. This is just hero riding to tell the grandkids one day.
I stand corrected then. Been through only one category 2 hurricane so far which was scary enough and rode its aftermath several hours past the eye passing and winds dropped to 45 gusting some more than that. Scary fun on 5,5m, pretty stable but won't recommend to anyone to repeat.

Not true. No first responder will jump into the Ocean to save that guy. They will wait for him to wash out. What are the chances of a SeaDoo being close there and having a spot to launch it? You watch too much Baywatch. Like I said, I am not even waiting to see what happens, I go home and get ready for a hurricane. Good luck Chuck.

It truly was a disgrace to kiteboarding. No one wants to join our sport after seeing the worst transition in the world.

Of course, and I thought I typed "not" but I didn't. They will not risk their lives saving one reckless. In our town cops watched a drugged guy run away atop and in the middle of frozen retention pond by mall where he stood until ice cracked and he fell through drowning to his death. Being in cold water he might have been recovered if there was appropriate equipment to get to him fast but there wasn't, just as there weren't heroes trying to get to him so he will pull the rescuer down too.
If it was a young kid or a pretty lady then maybe there'd be a hero but not for an intoxicated male in his twonies, right

I think we all agree that the poor quality of the transition is the most embarrassing thing here, and presumably the reason why he isn't showing his face...
