WTH is going on with the Wainman Maniac?

Hi all,
I love Wainman Rabbits and I need to replace my 9m Smoke...
Those kites are expensive but when I took a look at the WH online store I realized that the Maniac kite has a great discount.

Maniac 8 w/ bar: 609€
Smoke 9 w/ bar: 1540€

Is the Maniac not much appreciated between freestylers?

Wainman.... are they still alive? Started up promising to dissapear from tge beaches a few years later.

I had a few. They were ok. Good for drifting, waves. But black got too hot and valves failed

I also thought they were gone. Haven't seen any for years. Never tried one so hard to say but apart from the fresh graphics their shape looked out-dated, no single inflation , limited choice of kites in their range.

We don't see many maniacs on the beach here (in Holland). But if you'd take the trouble of checking their website...it's single inflation, wide inflation....etc.

We do see a few Rabbits of all sizes around....but as I am very unfamiliar with them, I couldn't tell you what year they are from. They seem to be used by lightweights, beginners or waveriders.

If I were a freestyler, I'd be tempted by the maniac.

It's a c-kite, they are probably just trying to offload them since people don't really buy them. There are great deals on c-kites all over the place, especially used. I picked up a 13/9/7 quiver of current-year fuels with 2 bars, basically brand new for just over $1000 total a couple years ago.

Hey! I saw some deal on the Wainman kites at Jupiter kiteboarding
I ride Wainman Rabbits and Maniac. The Maniac is a straight up C-Kite. Its great, for the hard core freestyle, Or big wind kiteloops.
I have the 11.5 and 8m. But i honestly much prefer my Rabbits for all round riding, much more forgiving and versatile. The rabbits have much more range also.

I think they are selling off stock to get ready for the new season. I dont think the Maniac Did well in a competitive market of freestyle kites.
