Question for Toby

Postby Bille » Mon Dec 11, 2017 9:27 am

How about adding a forum tool, that the author of a Thread, could
moderate or delete posts , that are off-topic ; Then when people like LFAK
or PMU, come on a topic -- and start their rampage , the author could just delete it ?
:D

No, that would lead to big chaos and confusion.
And it's about opinions...would could delete what they don't like...if it is without respect and aggressive one can always report a posting and I will check and take care of it

It is tempting, isn’t it.

Toby would be a very depressed person if he had to deal with every instance of douchebaggery though, and I definitely agree that it would cause chaos. Sometimes it’s not so bad having shitposts there for all to see. A few individuals manage to correct or apologise every now and then so there’s a small silver lining.

Only fail safe there is is to just laugh at some of these fuckwits and remember it’s just the Internet. Kiteboarders are the coolest people I know but even they are not immune to online rage culture. Amazes me what people are willing to put in writing. Anonymous or not.

Toby, while we're at it - why don't you make the "Location" field mandatory?

Too often people are asking geography-related questions while giving no clues regarding where they are located.

I've thought about this before. Some threads are ruined by arguments between members. It drowns out the intention the thread and kills it. A recent example is the 3d printed plastic parts thread. viewtopic.php?t=2398257&p=999120.

That was an interesting discussion and marketing concept that could have been fleshed out in more interesting ways. Instead one douche dragged it down.

I think there should be an option to consider removing posts if the thread is going off track from the original posters intent.

I have actual question too. Toby is it possible to do a proper backroll with downloop transition (as opposed to kiteloop)? As it seems that downloop doesnt provide enough pull and you end up with no power and simple backroll. After like 10-15 tries i gave up :)
