Few month ago there was that "bidirectional foil mounted on a short SUP board" thingie. Airplanes don't fly backwards and even the promo video looked like a unicycle struggle.

But...

What if we got a short SUP, with couple of small glued on fins on heel side and a larger, insertable middle fin like Flyrace/Flydoor has? No-edge riding, not as massive as regular SUP...might be cool, what do you think?

I think that a very light weight and large carbon fiber (skim?) board without fins, without straps and a concave bottom would be best. The fins add weight and drag; the concave bottom makes it possible to go upwind better.
