I'll agree with Bille....zipper deflate was the best.. pointless innovation is the two velcro deflate openings...pain in the butt to pack quickly with approaching storm..especially using large ram airs
My 21m Speed 5 takes considerable time to deflate with only one (center) deflate port. Any suggestions as to speeding up the process? Thx.

1. Supersized inflation valves

2. Self-rescue handles

3. Black canopy/strut color

4. Sharp hydrofoil wing/mast leading edge, fuselage nose

5. Spider bridle

I think only #5 needs clarifying. I'm suspicious of the idea that more than 3 bridle lines meeting at a single point is optimal. For example, this footage

phpBB [video]

from 20 sec and on, provides a very good view of the 5 lines meeting at the upper part of "spider web". It is clearly noticeable that the left most line is not fully tensioned and hangs a little, at times.
how fucking bored were you?

If you got a sewing machine ; it's an Easy job to add 2, (one zipper at or
near each tip), about 8 to 12 inches long each. Do ((NOT)) use a spiral zipper ;
they screw-Up when they even look at sand.
ALSO -- don't use the sewing machine to bind the closed zipper end ; do that by
hand , so you can change out the slider, if when it goes bad.

I challenge you to like Cabrinha's IDS, or high Ys, or unequal length lines, or leashes attached to the back of a harness (on the latter, I noticed instructors in South Africa showing students to do this, and they said it was the standard approach, although a few did attach the leash on the side at least - one reason to like the new short leashes, they will prevent this mistake for beginners).

I don't agree with the helmet comment, however, as I wear one pretty regularly.
Wasn't there a guy who got dragged backwards at the lake :)

But as much as I like short leash attached to the front of the harness you can't use it to hook the kite in and walk/swim back to shore

I really do not want to modify a kite that is still under warranty. Plus I have never sown on a kite before and would not want to risk it. The kite does have a vent at each tip (Velcro) that I open when deflating/rolling up the kite. Thanks anyway.

The 2018 is here, and there are two new nominees:

1. The V notch:

2. North supersized (9 mm) inflation tube

Hi,
Since similar experience on the Pansh Aurora v1 , I regularly use a kind of gym/yoga/light camping carpet which I cut its lenght in two . Before deflating the kite I roll it on itself like for packing it. Then I insert this cylinder in the central air inlet in addition or in replacement of the deflation zip or velcro.
After rolling the kite I use it as a encapsulation for the kite for easier insertion in bag and additionnal protection against cut. In case of agressive soil, t also can also.be located under the kite during launch to protect it.
