just a quick review on the this little devil!!
i bought this little kite for my 7 year old daughter. in full gear she fights in the nanomite division at 24 kilos , roughly 50 pounds!
we went to the beach , wind was steady 15 knots.
had to make a small harness out of back pack straps to fit her little body.
kite lines were 15 m.
this little kite carrys a punch!! at 15 knots it lifted my daughter easilly when she made mistakes and crossed the kite fast from one side to the other.
had to hold her down many times on the up stroke so she wouldnt get big air!!!
dont get fooled by the size!!
kite is extremelly stable and is 100% depowerable in 15- 20 cms of depower rope, no need for depower straps, ive set the depower lenght to 35 cms
Very fast for its size and when wiped around to the point of being dangerous.
beware kite seems small but kite has enough power to move a my 70 kilos around when wipped!!
used a 45 cm bar but its too fast. ideally bar needs to be in the 30-35 cms range for her little arms.
i guess messuring shoulder length would be a good indicative of best anatomical fit.
kite is a little on and off at limes when wind slows down.
first lesson was a success! shes hooked!
ive read some posts of kiters sugesting 4m kites and i personally thing its too much.
i can see me using this little kite to play around in 30-35 knots!!:)
have a great year !!! and i hope she sticks with it!

maybe put it on 20 to 25m lines, it will be a bit more forgiving..?

Opposite I would say. Very short lines at least until she learns to push the bar away for depower. I had a lot of fun with my little groms doing skateboard with the kite on short lines. I think they were 3 or 5 meter line extensions from an Eclipse bar.

With long lines we spent a lot of time flying the kite together, them holding the bar in the center and me just outside theirs. Learning to fly the kite for power and do small jumps. Learning to recover if the kite is flying down. Learning to keep the kite still. Learning to push away or drop the bar.

We used a Wichard snap shackle as a release to bring the bar closer and practiced quick release a lot as well.

Fun times. I like the Uno 4 and 6 a lot.
