Curious if anyone has experience riding both these boards and can share their insights?

I’d check the Liquid Force hippy stick line as well.
I’ve just had a Moon Patrol. Only had one short session so far but very impressed. Rides the same both ways and whilst I’m no expert at toeside, I did my best toeside ride and carve ever.
Plus they are much cheaper than the Mako or Nomad.

DIY CAD ultra-concave wave twintips 1500 and 130mm with my own fin designs. Easy upwind, awesome carving.

Keeping an eye on this thread too.
Though I design my own boards...
I'll have my newest design ready mid march and it will have more than double the concave and rocker of the Mako. Going to be interesting to see how it rides!

You can't go wrong with the Mako.
I rode one for 7 years, the original 150*34 version until I went over to strapless surfboard. Still have it. Bought a Shinn Monk 2 years ago and didn't like it at all. Problem is that I never learned to ride a traditional TT and it's not worth it to go that direction now.
OR have refined it and perfected the board like few on the market.
You'll find endless threads on it on kiteforum.com.

I haven't ridden either of these boards. But given the massive difference in flex and concave, I would expect them to be completely different animals.
Why not contact Simon at Nomad directly and ask him? He is super helpful and friendly. I've asked him for advice about building boards and I've never even bought anything from him.

Thanks for the input. I have the Mako and love it. I’mm tempted by the Nomad and have already contacted Simon. I was just testing if anyone has tried both. Wont be getting rid of the Mako. More a case of being indulgent

I have Nomad team wave tt 140x41. Use to ride Mako 150x40. Actually had two but wanted a another one with mutant option.

Mako is heavier and more stiff and I found that it was not so easy on my knees and ankles. Mutant option I did not use very much. For pure carving Mako might be little bit better as it has more concave and is more ski like.

Nomad is flexier, lighter and travel friendly and easier on legs imho. In lighter wind Mako is little bit sticky and does not jump so good.

Mako is almost like bomb proof construction but Nomad is also very well custom made.

I´ll stick with Nomad and won´t go back to normal twin tip. I have strapless SB also but it has been holdind up...

I have the Mako King and a custom Nomad Wave (150×48).

I don't ride the Mako anymore.
