North Quad bar - Slack safety line

Postby Beardytello » Fri Jun 01, 2018 12:37 pm

Hello again!

I recently replaced my safety line on my 2016 north quad bar (below the Y) it seems to be much longer than the other line (Strong middle line) so it kind of hangs there all limp

Could anyone see an issue with my putting an extra knot in below the red ball stopper to connect it to rather than one of the preconfigured ones to take a bit of the slack out?

I thought maybe it was line shrinkage of the older line but I replaced the "strong middle line" also and the safety line is still floppy.

Hey, Beardy. I don't see any problem with your plan, as long as you're simply making the slack line (below the Y) shorter and it doesn't impact the length of the above-the-Y portion of the line. Another idea might be to use a bungee safety line (like Ozone's) below the Y. I have a bungee on my older North bar, and it works well.

Did you replace the depower too? if so the new one could be shorter than the old one

Cheers, yeah, that wouldn't be a bad shout, might look at a bungee one next time, it is only below the Y so shouldn't really make any difference was my thinking too....there's no performance issues with it as it is...it just looks crap

No I didn't replace that, that was fine. Just the red safety line snapped for some reason.

Does it hang there limp when it's fully powered or just when you pull in depower?
