Re: Kiteboarding Sault Ste. Marie Spots

Hey, welcome to the Soo. The best spot we have is the area between Pointe Des Chenes and Gros cap. The public beach (Pointe Des Chenes) is a good spot to launch. I’ve never been to pancake but it’s protected in our prevailing NW wind.

Re: Cabarete Wind in June

A third kite would solve this issue but I was trying to avoid it. I traveled with 3 on my last trip and it was tough to make weight. I may have to entertain 8, 11, 13.

I would take the 11m. I rode a 14m and 11m Torch for a few summer trips to Cab in the past, never really used the 9m @ 87kgs
I could take a 13m airush razor but I was assuming it would be stonger than that on average. Did you use the 11 a lot? I'm a bit lighter, 77kg.

Re: Cabarete Wind in June

Without knowing your weight I would say 11m. Why would you bring a 8m free ride and a 9m c kite anyway? I mean in terms of wind window you are not covering much extra, if anything at all, adding the 9m. Slightly depends on where you kite. La Boca is one thing, but in Cabarete most areas are quite c...

Cabarete Wind in June

Hey Guys, i'm heading to Cabarete in late June for 7 days and trying to determine which kites to take. I've read all the articles out there but hoping to get some more input on wind strength and consistency. I'm going to be taking an 8m freeride kite, I want to do some freestyle at La Boca and debat...

Re: What is your cold water red line, measured in Celsius?

You can kite in ice water, it's the air temp that gets ya. I've kited in partially frozen lake superior with 13C air temp very comfortably and yesterday in -2C air with probably 9C water, the latter is much worse. Probably not great for the kites if you get them wet and have them freeze. I think any...

Re: La Ventana in November

I would take the 14 for sure.. or get a foil! Having spent several months there over a couple of seasons I'd say the wind is pretty inconsistent even at peak season. I think on my last trip in two months I only really needed the 9m a handful of times, was on the 10 or 12 mostly and missed a lot of ...

Re: La Ventana in November

Some years it will blow 2 days in November, some yeas it will blow 20. It is early for the season so anything can happen that month. If/When it blows the 9 and 12 will work most of the time on a tt depending upon how much you weigh, of course. Water is warm and wind is usually steady on cross-onsho...

La Ventana in November

Heading to La ventana for two weeks and hoping to get a better idea of what to expect for wind. I was planning on bringing a 9 and 12 but i'm reading mixed reviews and wondering if I should bring a 14 as well. I'll only be riding a twintip. Also how many days of wind per week should I expect? Any ot...

It can happen just with rooling and packing kite up. Pull it out ck. and reinstall .
