Re: Adding Rocker to a PVC foam core

Thanks really clever, in many ways solves the limitations of the existing techniques known by the man skilled in the art of bending pvc foam as you mentionned. As you said no removal of material with a grinder, no waste, no excess weight, no brute force, no spring back, no house burnt down by a heat...

Re: Sleeving kite lines

Hi indeed you are trying to keep this sleeving post going by any means :naughty: The answer is in the question some double braided rope have a tightly woven cover, And are impossible to splice - like I had some cousin rope with technora sleeve that was stiff and not spliceable. The manufacturer shou...

Re: Sleeving kite lines

@Herman yes agreed hand spliced pigtails end up 25 to 30cm with 2.5mm dyneema if not machine stitched and that is already shorter than the recomended bury length ( still a few stitches to block of course ) To avoid step at the butt junction in the center I overlap the two buried tails by 3-4cm, and ...

Re: Sleeving kite lines

Hi 3mm would be difficult to splice, maybe make trials first. Or you may not be able to keep the cover on the spliced eye. And the core alone may be less resistant than a kite line for equal diameter, also make sure the cover does not slide, creates an accordeon bunch and jam the release. Also as ed...

Re: Sleeving kite lines

This was the spliced eye with sleeve I made.
Very painful to do, the sleeve weave is too tight.
Pigtails are far more practical

Re: Sleeving kite lines

Thanks Evan for the pro tip on doubling up the line for 1-2m that sounds great. Do you need to stretch this 1-2m with a lot of tension after splicing ? Herman I agree brummel splices end up moving due to manipulations, the long bury tail eventually slips out, Long bury splice with a few stiches is q...

Re: How to Fix Uneven Lines on Your Kiteboarding Control Bar

Thanks very clear educational video.
Surprised they recommend knot and not splice.
With the wire tool provided and the sleeve a splice is as easy and stronger.
Takes just a little more practice but many on the forum have succeeded.

Re: Naish Zero Bar

I still dont get it. How can a reputable brand sell for that price tag a bar with a non certified QR, Made with a shackle than costs approx 15euro, that is way worse than a wichard in 2022 ??? Like even bars from 2010 like the cab mushroom release have a proper handle and can be used to make compact...

Re: Naish Zero Bar

Doesnt look any better than diy bars on this forum...
The QR is a water ski snap shackle they did not bother to make a QR handle.
Not impressive garage build level imho. Strange coming from Naish.
