Re: 9/12/15 vs 8/10/13 quiver tips

Thanks. I haven't tried the 8m orbit, but always curious this is a size a lot of the riders use when they go out in close to 40knots, but they might be lighter, usually that is the case maybe. Adding a 9m orbit and 13m reach seems a bit of an overkill and also quite an expensive option. The 12m orbi...

9/12/15 vs 8/10/13 quiver tips

Hi guys, I have been thinking of upgrading my quiver from 9/15 North Reach and 12m orbit to 10/13 reach and 8 orbit. I weigh 95kgs and started foiling recently hence don't need the 15 any longer and mostly used the 9m for foiling and TT when the wind is up 35. Now, since I am selling my largest, a 1...

Re: Quiver sizes 7/9/12/15 Vs 7/10/13

Thanks. I like riding my 12m, but feel like lot of times I ride just power and sometimes underpowered on it with my TT, so thinking one size might be a good option and on the high end I would say it would be very close with the 12m and in 24+ knot winds take out the 10m and 7m in closer to 40knots. ...

Quiver sizes 7/9/12/15 Vs 7/10/13

Hello everyone, I am 95kgs and I am thinking of upgrading my quiver. Currently I have 7/9/12/15 and we share it with my girlfriend who is on the beginners side and weight 50kgs. I just sold my 9 and 15 and thinking to replace them with North Reach or Duotone Evo and considering to replace my 12m and...

Re: Buying larger kite 15m vs. 17m (Contra, Emotion, Juice etc.)

Thanks TheRussia, RustyChain, Windigo1, Havre, Greenturtle, 1234567Simon, PullStrings, mikelet! Lot of very helpful reading and tips. Big kites are typically quite expensive - so if I were to buy a new/used big kite now finding a good deal would probably be more important than finding the perfect ki...

Buying larger kite 15m vs 17m (Contra, Emotion, Juice etc.)

Hi Guys, I am considering to buy a light wind kite, to take advantage of the nice spring/ summer lower wind sessions. By lower wind, I don't expect to ride in sub 10knot conditions, but more around 14-20 range. I weight 93kgs, have a 139x43.5cm (and a RRD Spark 5'5 surfboard) board and in these wind...

Re: RRD Chicken loop slips out

Which RRD bar you have? It was problem with chicken finger on older 5 and 6 generation RRD bars. Problem solved starting generation 7. If it is older bar you can replace chicken finger, for some time it will work. b.r. Arnold I've got the 8.2 generation. Love the bar but this is rather annoying. Th...

Re: RRD Chicken loop slips out

.....On good days I still hold the bar..... When unintentional unhooking happens, there are two likely causes. First, you could have a thin, limp donkey dick. (No offense intended, my friend. ) If your chicken loop has a donkey dick that bends easily, you can either replace it with a stiffer...

Re: RRD Chicken loop slips out

Buy a chicken finger and loop it on to your spreader bar, hook in and push the chicken finger under the chicken loop. This will prevent it ever accidentally slipping out again. https://powerkiteshop.com/wainman-hawaii-chicken-dig.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQiAkuP9BRCkARIsAKGLE8VIJfCwPupu_VZg_J_2IYxZdQuHBz4rDgj...

Re: RRD Chicken loop slips out

Never had a slippage or accidental opening with global bar v7 v8 but long swims due to center line snapping on a jump. The one inside the tube. Keep an eye on it. And replace often. It never lasted 6months for me. I think they had a recall of v8 because of it. But I had v8.2 with same issue. Hi the...
