Re: Please help to open SA beaches for kitesurfers

The government has a responsibility to try to contain the virus... disagree 100%. the moment you allow govt to be in charge of your health is the moment you lose all freedom. maybe that's fine for you. but understand that govt may then say 'it's too cold for you to go outside', 'it's too hot for yo...

Re: common sense/rules of kiting...again

It’s good that someone brings this up occasionally and I appreciate what you are trying to do. I just hope you are not expecting it to actually help. People can’t even use common sense or follow rules when driving which they do all the time and have actual rules laid out for them to make it safer. ...

common sense/rules of kiting...again

i'm sure something like this has been posted before, but based on what i'm seeing at my local spot lately, it needs to be said again. my guess is most new kiters are taught to fly kites, but not how to fly kites around others. and really, if you can't do that, you shouldn't be out there. sadly, i've...

Re: Kit is becoming too expensive

It happened to windsurfing and killed the sport. that is some nice fiction ya got going there. first off, a lot of folks still windsurf. but kiting (not windsurf prices) was mainly responsible for many leaving that arena. and btw, if you don't like inflation, don't buy anything. it's simple.

Re: Slingshot ghost 4m buckling under high winds starting loads.

i use an Ozone Uno 6M for anything over 18 mph. it is also a single strut kite. i've had it out in over 30 mph. it will buckle if i don't pump it rock hard. when it is hard like that, it won't buckle. just a few extra pumps makes all the difference with these small kites. i know you said you pump to...

Re: North Launches The Reach

Are you trying to go out in the very bottom of their low end? Maybe the wind is less on the water. What size lines you using? I'm using 20m so there is a little less drag from that. Are you inland or ocean, humid or dry air. Just trying to figure out what could be this issue. 12-20 mph on a foil is...

Re: North Launches The Reach

my bar and lines are almost brand new, so the bar isn't a problem. i was out today again foiling, and it was in the 12-20 mph range. it was probably my best session so far on the 9M, and it only back stalled once. the odd part about these back stalls is that they're very difficult to recover from, i...

Re: North Launches The Reach

i recently got the Reach 7M and 9M. I got to say I'm on the fence about these kites. They do have the right amount of bar pressure for me, which is very little. So far, I've just used them for foiling, and it's been a bit of a struggle. They really do stall out quite a bit, and when you get them 're...

Re: Seat Harness Manufacturers

...they put a plastic spring loaded clip on one side of the spreader bar which has now broke... i've been using the Vegas for years now. on my 3rd one. they don't last all that long...maybe 1.5 years depending on daily usage. but i always had a problem with that red clip breaking or getting loose a...
