FS: Ride Engine Bird Machine Foil Board

Selling an almost new Ride Engine Bird Machine Foil Board. Board is excellent conditions. Minimal scratches, and probably only used 6-8 times. Board is $900-1100 new, and I was thinking $475 + shipping (located in NE USA). 3'10 Length, 17.5" Width, 1.4" Thickness, 12L Volume. No straps or hardware. ...

Re: Best Kite pump today?

How are those pumps innovative? Those are pretty much the most basic pumps around and almost every pump on the market is just a derivation of one of them. I have the PKS and WFMG and while they work fine for the money (they break - but they are cheap and can be replaced or repaired), I wouldn't ever...

Re: Tried a Lift e-foil today

OK. Disregard my feedback. I thought they were both Lift. I have no knowledge of the other brand. It might be totally fine, but it might be a total bust. Personally I wouldn't spend that kind of money on anything but the big brands (Lift, Flite, Takuma).

Re: Tried a Lift e-foil today

You don't say your weight, which would help... Between those and without more info... definitely get the 5'8 with the 250. If you were starting to get the 250 to work on the first day, theres no reason to go for a bigger foil wing. Hard to say what the right size board is without knowing your weight...

Re: Strapless or straps?

Wings are not the best tool for jumping. We see these wingers in magazines jumping 30 feet in the air, well the kiters around them are likely jumping 50+ feet! I dabbled in wing jumping last winter and gave it up after a few sessions. It's very easy to jump 5-15 feet but difficult to get a big air ...

Re: Rodeo Start - sinker Board 34L, rider 92kg

That’s nicely done and explained - but it’s pretty much the same as what I call a stinkbug. I use the same shortcut to go from sitting to kneeling while bracing the nose of the board vs the fully laying variation. One difference is how you are holding the board with two hands (vs holding with one an...

Re: GoPro Remote Waterproofing

I had the same issue. I actually ordered another one, but that has the same. I ended up testing if I could wash the port out with fresh water after every session. That worked. So at least both seem to have water resistent USB Ports. After about a year both remotes are still working just fine. -- Gu...

GoPro Remote Waterproofing

I've had a lot of issues with water infiltration in the GoPro remote. Just got a replacement and found the charging area corroded after a SINGLE use. I always close the "waterproof" cover, but water seems to get in there regardless. This is the third unit I have gone through. I have been unsuccessfu...

Re: Reconnect after flag out

Its not ideal, but it definitely happens. I've done this a few times and it was always because of an accidental ejection in a circumstance where I don't want to (or can't) go back to shore. Make sure the lines don't get wrapped around anything and don't hold onto any lines when the kite powers up!

Re: Rodeo Start - sinker Board 34L, rider 92kg

I keep a +10 board for light wind, but I ride a -20 80% of the time now. At 15kts or above (conservatively), the -20 is absolutely no problem whatsoever (can be easier in some conditions) and is much more fun to ride for any style of riding (wave or freestyle). Swing weight is definitely part of it,...
