Re: Bahamas in September or October?

Hi StellaBlu, you cannot go wrong on Elbow! The island is so small that no matter the wind direction you will be able to find the perfect spot very quickly, as I assume you will have a golf cart to get around. Typical wind direction will have east in it (the ocean side) but any wind direction can h...

Re: Bahamas in September or October?

Have fun in the Bahamas. I've actually enjoyed my time kiting there more than any other place in the world. I like that it's not really known as a kite destination and most of the islands are untouched. It's really more like adventure kiting as compared to the venues that are packed with tourist ki...

Re: What am I doing wrong while mid-air? (video link)

The problem is not what you are doing in the air. Its getting into the air that is your problem. Your kite is pulling you over the water and you are swinging under it, versus popping up. - you are popping too early in relation to where your kite is - you are sending the kite from too deep a position...

Easy Access, Windy East Coast Weekend Destinations

Looking for recommendations for weekend kite/wing trips on the east coast. Prerequisites: - Efficient. Thinking of weekend trips (arrive Friday night and depart Sunday afternoon) and want to get as much quality riding as possible. - East coast - convenient access to an airport (direct flights from m...

Re: Cabrinha Mantis inflate valve

I have used wfmg, slingshot, north and pks pumps on my mantis wings and none of them need an adaptor. It’s just the standard “two channel twist fitting”. Hope this is helpful.

Re: Takoon v2 Wing

Anybody see one of these in the wild yet, or better yet, ride or handle one? Looking for a 3 or 3.5m wing, which is a size that probably won't see ton of use. Was debating between this and the Mantis (which I already have in other sizes). The price is certainly right on the Takoon and it seems like ...

Re: Kite Designer Pat Goodman leaves North

What I wonder: Does a kitedesigner own the designs of his work? Or does the designs, knowledge, testings,... stay with North. If so, I guess the new designer could build further on Pat Goodman's designs... And then my second question: is this feasible? Or is this practically not doable and is it be...

Re: Foot Switch Training on Balance Board

I do it on the balance board, with the roller both perpendicular and parallel to the board. I do it more just to develop balance. The movement isn't that similar in my opinion. You can slow the movement down a lot on the balance board as long as you are holding the balance point. On a foil it needs ...

Re: Appletree wing foilboard 5'2''

I have the same board and you won’t be disappointed. The solid construction and stiffness, and scooped deck translate to a very direct and connected feel to the foil that I haven’t felt on another board. Hard to describe but when it’s on foil it rides like a lower volume board. Only change I would m...

Re: Duotone Aluula Wing

The leading edge seems pretty massive compared to the Ocean Rodeo... or maybe it is the photo... Good point. Seems unnecessary and counterproductive to make the LE this large given the added stiffness of Aluula. The pics show a good view of the handles and they look really stiff and solid. Im dying...
