Re: What is the lightest 17m inflatable kite on the market?

I am also looking at similar. The Contra 17m weighs 4.3kg. The Airush Ultra Team 17m comes in at 3.08kg but there are none around. The Ocean Rodeo at over 4600US is a bit pricey. Waiting for a cheaper option. Where do you get $4600 from? 2023 is $3500 on OR site and less in stores. Also Real has 30...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Rise - Defective Kite and Company

I have dealt with OR warranty on Aluulas multiple times...my experience has been nothing but excellent, so either OR completely changed their policies, which is unlikely, or we're missing some details....like how exactly the kite got damaged? Also, making general claims about quality based on 1 expe...

...... Just a shame it’s so expensive, I won’t be buying it unless I can do a test drive at this price.
OR have 60 days satisfaction guarantee which is way better than a test drive...

Re: Line Stretch

I explored a few of the line manufacturer web sites. They don't go into detail about stretch and shrinkage. There's no discussion about how or why shrinkage happens. The only exhaustive discussion about shrinkage is in threads like this with half-assed anecdotes and dodgy measurements. That's not t...

Re: Line Stretch

My take on this is, variations in line length are easily compensated for in the travel on the trimmer and the bar. Check your trim a couple of times a year, particularly when they're new and any settling is likely to happen. This is consistent with paragliding manufacturers who recommend re-trimmin...

Re: Locations to Kite Santa Monica to Manhattan

I have asked lifeguards in multiple locations and the only answer I have gotten is that it is allowed, but must be away from beach crowds.. including even Venice - they told me it's ok to launch at the south end closer to the marina.
