Re: Unlock Core Bar for Aluula Kites

If you're looking to fly Aluula kites with a Core bar...I've heard rumors floating around that Core has been demoing an Aluula XR8.

Re: Can I make knots on a bridle line?

Yep, you sure can. In fact, this is how some kite manufactures tune their bridles prior to releasing for mass production. I believe I read somewhere that Jesse actually won 2020 KOTA on a knotted bridle Orbit.

Re: best board for jumping in chop

No idea who told you that the Mako doesn’t jump well. I’ve had PLENTY of 10-15m jumps on it. Seen others doing similarly, too. It requires a bit more technique than a run-of-the-mill twintip, but it certainly jumps fine. What board are you riding now that you’re having problems with? I agree with S...

Re: Lightest bar pressure 11m kite for old school tricks!

Are you flying each kite with their brand's bars or are you mixing bars? The XR's have to be flown on the Core Sensor bar to be properly evaluated. Is there something magical about the core sensor bar? As far as I know the properties of the bar that influence the feel of the kite are 1) the springi...

Re: kitesurfing = knee injuries

A few things ya can do to help prevent knee injuries is: stay away from wakestyle / freestyle, stay away from riding boots, and don't do kiteloop tricks. But if you want to pursue those disciplines a good CTI knee brace on your front knee certainly helps.

Re: TT choice for less wind but always chop

Another one to consider for a smooth ride and a total change of pace from your 135 is an Ocean Rodeo Mako 165. It's not a light wind specific board but does get going pretty early. Don't let its length put you off, it's a fun and surfy feeling board that'll give a comfortable ride in chop and keep ...

Re: 12m contrast: switchblade and XR7

I rode a 10m xr6 and found it dull and sluggish compared to my 10m pivot. Well, of course. You're comparing a 5-strut kite to a 3-strut kite. I few locals have switched to rebel SlS from XR7 and are very happy. Most commented on the top end was insanely good. Also many locals are riding Orbits and ...
