Re: To Harness or not to Harness?

I am faster and point higher without a harness, but for long upwinds i use it to save energy for the DW bit. I also think it is healthier in the long run, less chance of getting chronic tendinitis etc... BTW the top racers are also faster without hooking in, this is what Matthis Ghio said in The Rac...

Re: Better than alulla

Cool build, i do not really understand why it has no twist.
Isn't this gonna cause lots of spill at the tips?, and the handling is not going to be friendly i think.

Anyway, i think our main speed limit is in the foil size&control.

Re: Highwind stink bug start help

Can't comment on a stink bug start as I found it always to frustrating and "overengeneered" unless it's done on SUP or high volume board on flat water. I've naturally come to rodeo start method and for me it works on any board in any conditions. In this video I'm on a 85l board, but I use this meth...

Re: I Blame Windsurfers

... Would you fly the Himalayas, with a 1997 , Edel Rainbow ? OH Hell No ; it's because advancements in technology would make that a silly decision ! ... True. But I also wouldn't fly the Himalayas with a hang glider. Paragliders have been doing that successfully for almost 20 years. I did a fair b...

Re: Those #%" calls for help...

Oh yes, i totally identify with this! :( 1 year ago i had the wind drop from 18-25kt to 6kt in minutes while up& downwinding. I had to slog (downwind) with big leftover chop for an hour.Falling and swearing a lot. When i got to the beach there were 5 policemen of various units and a firefighters tru...

Re: $400 range wings

Gong is in that price range but it is a common misconception that their competitive pricing is because they have sacrificed quality. Their wings are comparable to all AAA brands, and for 2023 I’d argue are better than most, if not all! So stoked on their gear. A Gong 2023 V3 Neutra in 4m is 600€. I...

Re: Copa Kitley GWA Wingfoil World Cup Brazil 2022

I totally agree with the music loop criticism 😂 especially as this area has such a nice local music named Forrho perfectly matching with dancing the waves ! Nevertheless I do ride Duotone and been on Ken Winner Designs for decades, I´m happy that 3 out of 4 WC titles have gone to non-Aluula brands,...

Re: Copa Kitley GWA Wingfoil World Cup Brazil 2022

Nice :D They use 500 to 600 cm2 foilwings even in relatively low wind, makes sense. Seemed like they abandoned the surf/pump leg requirement in the last heats, maybe disturbed by too many surfers? One really annoying thing: Could do without the background music, the same short loop for hours and ho...

Re: Worse wings of 2022

???? That is a Takoon V1 , when that wing was brought into the market i do not think any wing had strings holding the bladders...they started doing that rather recently. And it is not so important, just watch your wing while inflating,do not hang to dry etc... As for dragging the wind on the ground,wh...

Re: aerogel in foil boards

I split the difference on my 13 lb, 150 liter wingboard. “Hollow” but no inner carbon, just 1inch foam “honeycomb”. I did a lot of calculations and you only save a lb or so going hollow with inner carbon layer until in the 100+ liter range where the weight savings really adds up, but the expense do...
