Re: The craziness is underway in Cape Town

I don't like cold and I'm riding a 3/2. Mate I'm with is in a 2mm shorty most days. Air is plenty warm, so as long as you're not body dragging a lot with water flushing your suit, a 3/2 is plenty. You can get away with 3/2, but most people I know (including me) there use 4/3 or 5/4. 3/2 is somewhat...

Re: Do you know the Kitesurf Right of Way Rules? Find out how to determine if you have priority

long text I do not need a lecture on how to behave on the water. I know how to handle myself. But you are obviously mixing up "behaving nicely/common sense" with "right of way/priority". Your self invented "wave rules" show this so obviously. If you need a tape measure to find out who has "priority...

Re: Do you know the Kitesurf Right of Way Rules? Find out how to determine if you have priority

All of these are sailing rules. ... But I'm curious to know what are your sailing rules that differ any of the ones I presented. ... These rules are sailing rules and nothing is actually made up by me. How is this not obvious? The Colregs - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Regulations_fo...

Re: Do you know the Kitesurf Right of Way Rules? Find out how to determine if you have priority

I really think it is better to just stick to the proven sailing rules. All your personal additions to those rules simply do not work and in a pinch, they might actually lead to collisions. There is a reason collision avoidance rules are as simple and clean as they are. There simply must not be any m...

Re: Firewire Evo Helium tech - does it truly flex?

I bought an Evo Helium construction last fall and have been kiting it maybe 10-15 times (choppy onshore waves, fully lit in 20-30 kn). .... This has not happened on my LFT vader nor LFT vanguard which have some depression after a few years of use. As you are even using LFT boards....are you sure yo...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

So you prompted me to present evidence. Then I did - which you did not refute but....now you are dodging the quantifiable evidence saying that it is not evidence as far as you are concerned. Saying "Well, I don't care about that" is not a way to refute the evidence. It is more akin to changing the ...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

Repeating the same points over and over without valuing other peoples opinions does not make them facts. It just makes the people you argue with tired at some point ;-) Evidence for performance: 1. Going faster is quantifiable in measured speed for which strapped absolutely beats strapless 2. Handli...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

With straps I can: 1. jump 12 foot of whitewater easily 2. i can tack upwind through the inside, because I can jump whitewater 3. i can jump 20-25' plus off waves 4. i can hit the lip as hard as i can & the board never comes off my feet. If these are your goals in kitesurfing, use straps and have f...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

Lightweight strapless surfboards/kitesurfboards (4'-9" to 6'-0") - ... 2. Great for jumping and rotations as the wind pressure is enough to keep the board press up against your feet BUT!!! they bounce out in chop and the board's lack of inertia means most instances of loss of contact with the board...

Re: Day 1 Finished - King of the Air 2019 - all info here

Considering most are not kitesurfers, I guess "new" does not have any value for those viewers. How would they know something is new? What they see is height and power. Its the same when I see those guys in wingsuits flying. There could be someone jumping off a plane, doing the most advanced stuff ev...
