My optician told me I should never wear my contact lenses when I’m kiting due to risk of infection. As mine are disposable is this really the case? Is the risk that high?
That loop on the blue 9m, I’d class that as a mega loop even if he didn’t land it clean. Never going to attempt anything like that as my old knees would never recover from a bad injury. Fair play to him, takes some balls and he’s had a few hard crashes. Been fun to watch.
Stuff is just too expensive for what it is. Even with new materials the average kitesurfer isn’t doing anything different to back in 2008 when Best Waroo was about. Still see a few of them being used 16 years later. How many of these latest super light kites do you think we still be used in that tim...
There are definitely some deals to be had but the cost of some of the new kites is now becoming unrealistic. My Rebels are 4 odd years old and whilst they are great kites I don’t feel that for someone of my skills they are much better than kites I had back in 2010. I remember paying 900 pounds for a...
Anyone kitesurfed at Lalysos? Heading off there on Weds and trying to decide if I should pack the hydrofoil. I don’t think you kite directly off the main beach and they transfer you to another bay.
This was brilliant to watch, why can’t the freestyle events have the same level of coverage rather than just annoying 5 minute clips. Must be one of the only “world” events that we hardly get to watch?
I think it’s going the same way as windsurfing, overly expensive and technical kit that no one really needs but advertising tells us we must have it. I think kitesurfing is hitting that peak, looking at £2000 for a decent sized kite and a bar.
I find my Alpha’s amazing on the foil but really boring on the twin tip. I can get some decent jump height when I’m on the twin tip and my Rebels but not much on the single strut. Given the choice I’d rather ride my 7m 5 strut in higher winds, they eat the gusts and are super stable.
