Have any of you flown both XR7 and the Machine in 8m or 9m and is able to give a direct comparison? Wind range, upwind, speed, boost, loopability?
Bump! And any other head-to-head Orbit vs Machine experiences out there?

Re: North Orbit 2023

North should make aluula orbits in the double digit sizes 10+! I would buy in a heartbeat, so long as I don’t need to sell a kidney like D-lab

Re: 2022 Ocean Rodeo Aluula Rise: first hand experience?

12m: unfortunately the situation was weird (I rode a bigger freestyle board and tiny fins, not my normal set up). To be continued… @Paleofit wondering about your experience with 12m So here’s my take (few months late, sorry!!): the 12 is like the 10, just bigger and beefier! Things just happen a li...

2022 Ocean Rodeo Aluula Rise: first hand experience?

Alright, all the Rise sizes are coming out. Who has ridden what? What’s the stoke level and verdict out there? 10m: 3 sessions in and loving it. It’s got that amazing aluula low end of course (fun to mess with a surfboard) but my biggest grins so far were in 22 knots average on TT. As expected, it t...

Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I read Giel takes his 10m Aluula Rise from 18-40 knots so I’m pretty sure the top end is fine lol: https://kitesurfpro.nl/en/ocean-rodeo-rise-review-filmpje-en-14-bevindingen/ That’s been my experience with the aluula kites too. Huge range, excellent from bottom to top. They all basically fly in 5mp...

Re: How to time heli loops

What you described is quite simply not flying the kite through 12 o'clock overhead. Just watch the kite and see where it is on your next jumping session to see where it is when you're jumping. If the kite is still in front of you or directly overhead, you will get a fast downwind landing. If you're...

Re: How to time heli loops

Yeah, sounds like you need to send around and behind more, not right on top in a tight circle or too downwind.

All right y’all, if you want an aluula kite without having to pay for it, OR is giving away the new Rise + extras:

Re: The Ocean Rodeo Rise A-Series - A Big Air legend is born

But why C - shape ? how friendly will this kite be for someone who never tried c-shape ? “Open c” is nothing like a c-shape with the lines near the tips. It is bridled. Also similar shapes can fly totally different. Look at the Core GTS or OR Roam. Way different kites but kinda similar shapes I thi...

Re: The Ocean Rodeo Rise A-Series - A Big Air legend is born

Orbit killer no? Probably watch/move it or it will front stall…your reward being and aggressively fast kite that lifts and loops like mad. They do say “user friendly” and that has been my experience with aluula generally. I too am quite often on 12m and want more. I sometimes do longer lines bc aluu...
