Re: Man Travels 4,000Km Across the Pacific With A Single Wing

You could probably get there for a lot less money and 100x quicker by just booking a flight on a commercial airline. That's what most people do......

Re: Fabric for Hand Wing Strut

This supplier specializes in kites and has a wide variety of products including dacron, and various ripstop fabrics. I've purchases from them for several years. Might take a look and see what they have, or contacts them and see what they recommend.

Re: Single skin foil stiffeners

I used lawn trimmer filament to shape the leading edge of some of the single skin kites I made. It looks very much like that. The first time around, I wanted to straighten it so it would take the shape of the curve built in, rather than the tighter coil it came from. Tried various things including b...

Re: Is anybody still buggying

@bragnouff - the Mtn boarder is actual a pretty small thin woman - I likely outweigh her. One thing to keep in mind - what you lose in forward drive you gain in lift which partially mitigates the rolling resistance. I did manage to keep up the the buggy rider with a 6m peak (albeit a bigger guy than...

Re: Is anybody still buggying

Wing Buggy is a new option. Kite Buggy riding with a 5m wing instead of a kite. Worked quite well. Goes great upwind and downwind, very easy to jibe and tack. My top speed was 20 mph on this day but it wasn't that windy (10-15). From the Jekyll Island Buggy Expo 2022 last May. I was actually quite s...

Re: Crack on carbon mast

Slingshot has been very good about warranty issues with people I know. My friends have gotten great service - including full replacements several times. One guy ran over a rock with his foil and it got sheared off. He figured it was totally his own fault, but they replaced it in full. I'd say call t...

Re: Ideas or Suggestions for Wing Rebuild

Good news: I did get in touch with the Bladderman by calling the number listed on his web page. My old bladder is on its way to his shop so he can give me an estimate on making a new one.

Re: Ideas or Suggestions for Wing Rebuild

Thanks @JakeFarley. I've tried email for Bladderman a few times but no answer. I was wondering if he was still in business. I'll try his phone on Monday.
