Re: Rise Quiver Help

I am a bit lighter than you and the 6-8-12 combo gets me out and comfortable in pretty much all conditions. I think the 7-10-13 might be perfect...but a meter difference on either side would probably be just fine as well. For your main kite, over 20 kts and I think you would be powered on the 10 m. ...

Re: Saipan in Dec - bring my stuff or rent?

Did either of you end up kiting in Saipan? Could you provide a brief trip report? I may be going there in a couple months. Thanks!

Re: Place to stay in Naxos

Went there last summer. There are a number of places to stay right on the beach at Mikir Vigla. We stayed at Oasis Studios: http://www.mikri-vigla.com/ and had a good stay. Pretty basic accommodations and the owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Also http://www.hotel-orkosbeach.com/ has rooms and a ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

Hi Evan, A question on self landing, if the kite fully depowers when releasing the QR why would you not just release the QR and when the kite is on the water just pull on both center lines to walk up to the kite. I know one option if you want to self rescue would be to flag the kite after the QR is...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

It seems obvious to me that "the proof is in the pudding." Three years of riders using this setup in a wide variety of conditions and no complaints or issues...in fact I think OR riders are pretty stoked with it.The system works, as me and numerous other riders can attest to. I definitely encourage ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

Wow! You should be a politician. I don't mind being "talked down to"... as long as I get some information that I can use to understand the issue. Instead of sending me on a "wild goose chase" on related forum threads, how about posting a link where, at least I can see a diagram or picture of the ne...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

I would like to know more about the exact procedure for throwing the kite to a single line, in preparation for a self-rescue situation. I assume that one would not be safe in attempting a deepwater self-rescue using the IKO method of winding the lines up on the bar in order to gain access to the ki...

Re: Info about Naxos on Late August

I will be there in late August/early September as well. Sounds like I should bring small kites (8 m)? Any other suggestions? Also, has anyone kited in Amorgos? Can't find much online about it...

Thanks!

Re: I know Mako is wave oriented; what about Pop?

Bart, this doesn't have to be that hard. Ocean Rodeo has a 30 day money back guarantee. i would say go demo a board but with these boards its going to take you a day or 2 to figure it all out so buying one under the guarantee would provide you the answers you are seeking. If you are in the states i...
