Re: Ad blocker message

Are u connecting via your phone on wifi using your home router? Many home routers have automatic ad blocker. I get the red shutout if I try and view KF via wifi connection with ad blocker disabled. I dont get the message connecting via cellular and therefore dont having my wifi router (not ad blocke...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Problem I think solved. I am seeing from Alex’s video that u need to connect the center lines all the way up at the knot that splices off into the bridal lines. I did this for the steering lines but not the center lines - eg I was wrongly connecting center lines at the original knot for the turbo pu...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

9F215982-62F6-4261-A08B-0D803018752F.jpeg Thx Regis. This makes sense. One observation. When u are connecting the turbo pulley to your steering lines it seems to increase the distance of the z line. Eg the turbo pulley and associated rope create a lower connection point for the steering line then w...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

yes it is ok if you have completely removed the pulley , like I did What I am finding is that with the turbo pulley line removed in light wind my 12m kestrel isnt letting me completely sheet out the kite as when I had the 3rd pulley connected. Any thoughts Regis? Is this your experience? It is as i...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Wow. FunAlex, the 6m is a blast. I was able to try it today in high teens kts on a 1845cm2 x1 monofoil (equivalent to a 1400 cm2 standard front wing with fuse). Weight 80kg. 87cm pocket board. This is a special kite for sure. Higher aspect than the FS Soul but somehow more forgiving than my FS Sonic...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Thanks Regis and Alex. Looking at my bar now I can see in my rush to get out I attached the steering lines to the second knot on the rear pulley system and not the first. This would have moved likely the neutral power setting on the bar throw 10 or cm up and combined with the higher than optimal win...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

So I decided to disconnect the third pulley and try my 12 m Kestrel today with winds that were likely a bit more than ideal in the low gusting to mid teens. I am 80 kg and riding a 1850 mono wing which is similar to a traditional set up, say it with a 1400 front wing. I was surprised to find that th...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Agreed the pre inflation isn’t as good as a FS due to the placement of the air intakes which are on the bottom half of the leading edge. I had some issues launching my 12m kestrel in very light wind as it was basically impossible to pre inflate without a breeze on the beach. The simple hack for this...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

:!: Good... After first use, you can adjust your kite behavior if you want : https://www.lesfoilz.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5832 "optimal mixer" is the way to go most of the time Thx I adjusted the B line to extend it by close to 2cm. Should the length of the extension of the B line be the same...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Thx alex will do! Tried the 8m yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Much faster through the wind window than the same size soul and lots of low end range. I am 80kg on a 1500 front wing equivalent traditional foil (x-1 monfoil is 1800 but no rear stab so take 300-400 off total cm2) and I was able to r...
