Re: Too Heavy to Wingfoil

Encoraging…
What is the “best” size for the “big” guy in 15 kn…
The 6.5 wing?
Or a 6?
I just saw a Cabrinha Crosswing V3…size 7…and the “massive” diameter of the leading edge scared the hell out of me…godzilla size…6.5 PSI
What wings have smaller diameter to a higher PSI in big size…say a 6?

Re: Too Heavy to Wingfoil

If it is true that “board windage” is a mith and the “heavy” is tall enough to handle the 8m wing…ok then

Re: Too Heavy to Wingfoil

Exactly, windsurf wave…
Cork board in my case…
Got a 5m wing…
Now lets wait for 25 kn.
Even so…windsurf waterstart looks easier than wing start on a sinker board.

Too Heavy to Wingfoil

From what people say, big boards suffer a lot with wind interferance... In a sport where everyone thrives to get "smaller"... It seems there are diminishing returns as you go big... Is wingfoil viable and fun for old 250+ pounds? Or just stick to kitefoil... (I can only speak theoretically for now.....

Re: Okay, 10-15knot winging is actually fun!

I had today an eye opening experience on a board that I believe will be perfect for light wind in the 10 to 15 kn.... It wasnt so much about volume... Sure few liters above your weight helps... But Width... Even with the board being only 10 or 15 liters more than my weight, 30 inches wide, with rail...

Re: help with turns

Still learning…
What is helping is that to do what I want in the kite “faster” I forget the bar and use the lines to steer.

Sabfoil W1250

Any experiences with this wing for the heavy guy?
Is 2400 cm2 overkill?

Re: Moses SABfoil

I am travelling for kitehydrofoil purposes…
But intend to take a W945 as a light wind kite, medium wind wingboard wing.
Has anybody used a W945 with a kite?
I am very heavy guy…

Re: Getting up On Weight = Volume Board

I had to climb the board from the rear… Had difficulty keeping the nose pitch stable…nose sinking or poping up… Tried to use the wing to stabilize but found it to slippery to hold wing+board. But the real thing is that I am too much of a novice and used too little of a board for my first try… Also u...
