Re: foiling is surfing

Yes, we need to use smaller foils Peter. Toward the end of fall we were figuring it all out. Guys are kiting now and wingfoiling in winter winds But yes, this summer chasing the faster ships we will need smaller wings. Have ben using big wings and the wakes are outrunning us It's definitely legit An...

Sometimes the wake off these ships even gets as high at 22 mph Foils will adapt But —for sure —having soft shelled boards helps alot as they ba...

Re: foiling is surfing

I disagree that kiting is surfing Only if you could let go of the kite and keep Surfing on a wave—-but even being dragged across a giant wave face is not surfing— thats dragging Trolling around on swells is not surfing Surfing is harnessing the ion particles moving in rotation thru the ocean to form...

Agreed
At 12 minutes in he explains the same concept i explained

Flat hand out the car window— lift
Fist out the car window— turbulence and no lift

Bulbous or flat faced rails kill all turbulence

Re: Does the foil board itself give us any lift?

Most definitely It does Debatable how much but agreed that it is a variable. Do you feel the way wind moves the board as you are walking down the beach? Some designers are making bulbous nosed big wave and Tow in surfboards for the pro big wave tour. Bulbous noses cut thru the wind. Put your hand ou...

Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

Two questions:

How many sub 4'6" surfboard riders out there?

And how many people own any sort of crossover board and use both?
Kitesurf in the afternoon ---and wake foilsurf behind the boat that evening --on the same board.
