Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

Two questions:

How many sub 4'6" surfboard riders out there?

And how many people own any sort of crossover board and use both?
Kitesurf in the afternoon ---and wake foilsurf behind the boat that evening --on the same board.

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

No harness necessary That is appealing to a lot of people....especially those who have no wind sport background. Winging will attract people from fringes. They will appreciate the simplicity. There is nothing between you and the wing. Nothing between you and the board and foil. All one unit--- bendi...

Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

If you are foiling, or plan to, there are a lot of options for having both on one board. And one that surfs good not just a plank. The new 4’6 spacestick coming out kites, surfs, wakesurfs and has foil tracks. Releasing in 2 months. https://www.instagram.com/p/BuKKMFInAd5/ https://www.instagram.com/...

Drones
There are already people experimenting with that
A guy in Hawaii did it last winter....was all over social media

It's likely in the future...makes sense.
Not naturally powered but definitely would be fun to try

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

This wing thing is here to stay. It relatively inexpensive when you see you can get away with one....or two...wings. No harness No lines No need for a launch site at all For sure it is relatively hard to do. But if you enjoy laughing at yourself and not buggered by what anyone thinks of you--- then ...

Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

Age old debate. Kite'surfing' needs clarification. Volume does not matter when planing...of course not. But when you are truly surfing a wave with the kite at full nuetral--or drifting powerless-- then the volume plays a key factor. The volume will determine a lot of the actions the board is able to...

Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

Easier to explain this with a magazine interview quote from Mark Shinn. You need volume in the board to ride the wave without power in the kite

Re: Surf kiteboard favorites

A little more than the same board made up of EPS and Epoxy. The fact that there is no glass on the rails makes it lighter. And then the weight of the skin adds a little. The skin is durable so It has to have density to it. So dense that the skin does not absorb water. The structure inside is EPS and...
