Re: Best sim for 3 weeks in Brazil

Last time I used Tim (I’m pretty sure), was easy to activate (as a foreigner). The only problem I encountered is that the one I bought and registered in Ceará didn’t work in Rio de Janeiro. Apparently they have regional blocking or something between states.

Re: Buying property in Cumbuco

True, you would get bored in Prea much easier than in Cumbuco.

Re: Buying property in Cumbuco

And the buggies charge what, 150 reais to take you the 10mins from Cauipe to Cumbuco. You wouldn't want to do that every day, especially if you're on your own.

(maybe I was paying gringo tax IDK)

If you're going for 4-5 months, wouldn't you rather buy where it's windier eg: Prea?

Re: Big air trend

I want to know why the Big Air trend is a total boys club. At least when freestyle was in vogue we had mens and womens divisions, which was great for encouraging women in the sport. We had a few local superstars who were doing great in national and international comps. But in 2023, 2024 - what's in ...

Ok thanks, but what about ‘good spots’ as in nice beach towns with a vibe, hotels, restaurants etc.

Re: Brazil (Ceara / North) for non-kiter - where?

Tony, do you know if there are any good spots worth visiting SE of Fortaleza?

I’ve heard of groups like iron macho doing downwinders from Natal but hear little else about that stretch of coast. Guessing it’s all light wind?

Re: Brazil (Ceara / North) for non-kiter - where?

In Macapá I can recommend "35 knots". A really great place to stay. This is about a 5-10 minute drive to the kite spot. You need a car (preferably 4x4), as it's not walking distance to anything. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone going with a non-kiter. I would go as far as to say that Jeri and Cumb...

Before you get too excited by a Yellow material called aluula... it doesnt automatically give you a Wonder kite.

That Yellowy stuff ain't a Magic comp winning pass - but it will magically make a lung or money disappear :)
Hmm this post didn't age well! Two WR broken on day 1 with this kite.

Re: Hurghada Egypt Sucks

Having been a few weeks ago, I can report: El Gouna, when the wind is up: 7/10. Unfortunately there's no accomodation near Makani beach club / Kite power but as mentioned it's a cheap tuk tuk to resorts or apartments. i didn't find it too crowded and was happy to pay 10 euro a day for facilities, be...
