Re: Looking for a true resistant directional board for strapped jumping

I had a 2007 F-1 Legend for a while. Didn't use it much because our waves are mostly small slop around here and a twintip is better suited for it. I sold it in almost band new condition. It was a solid solid board. It was a mutant board, with 3 fins on the primary tail, and 2 fins acting like a twin...

Re: Self launch and self land option

Easy to make and packs up small. IMG_1366.JPG I like your idea too. It's smaller and more compact. Might not work on rocky beach, but nice for the ocean by me. What kind of collapsible pole is that? I think I found it.... adjustable tarp pole https://www.rei.com/product/845322/rei-co-op-adjustable-...

Re: Self launch and self land option

PVC Hook is looking better. I like the idea of a bungee anchor line. I would also bury the anchor just so you don't catch the bridles/lines before the PVC hook Thanks for posting! Yes. The sand bag is buried. That is the kite bag with packing straps inside, that I hook onto the anchor just so it wo...

Re: Self launch and self land option

I put together a quick video of my last few landings with my PVC kite hook. All with Hyperlink V1 12 meter First one, 17 mph day Second one, 20 mph day Third one, 12 mph day, very light winds only picked up later in the day, so I was fooling around with my camera and decided to do the demonstration ...

I wouldn't want to walk on those rocks, let alone launch or fly a kite from them. Just one misstep....
It makes me appreciate my 11 minute drive to my local, empty, beach, with huge launch area. But I'm guessing from the palm trees, his water is nicer than mine.

Re: Self launch and self land option

[/quote] I am thinking that if you release a normal closed cell twin skin kite on to a 5th line with fully pressurized cells in stiff winds, it may rip the middle seam in half as it suddenly folds in two under pressure. my hyperlinks which are dual mode kites, the instructions warn not to operate th...

Re: Self launch and self land option

I understand how some guys are against the hook on the rear bridle and would rather/strongly recommend: 1. using the backstall method 2. emergency centerline 3. edge of wind window and then backstall I sorta wish kitesurfing was popular enough around here that there was more than 1 or 2 guys on the ...

Re: Self launch and self land option

Sorry you don't like it. I'm self employed and spend the weekends with my family. I always have to kite alone. There is never anyone around when I kite during the week. So I've had to add extra tools to my tool box to make life easier.
